by redwidow Member since:August 19, 2010Total points:5,139 (Level 5)STOP DRAINING IT!!!!!!!! That is the absolute worst thing you can do for it, it WILL get infected. You have two options, go to vet, pay $5-600.00 having the layers of the ear stitched back together (which my vet won't even do unless it is a show animal) OR LEAVE IT ALONE. It will go away all by itself (This is coming from a vet and personal experience). Once it starts to go down you may want to have him checked for ear mites as that is usually the cause.My dog just recovered from a hematoma on BOTH ears.
