Do you know which state has the nickname of the ?Mount Rushmore State??? Homeschooled (or roadschooled) Nadia and Aidan Wright, with their parents, dad Harrison who is a journalist and mom Stephanie who is a computer programmer, are headed in their R. V. from their previous adventure in Wyoming to the Black Hills of South Dakota.? They come to the town of Sturgis for the famous Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.? Harrison is to write a story about it, and there they find their grandparents, who just happen to ride Harley Davidsons.? They also meet Billie and Bobbie, twin sisters whose dad is a friend of Grandpa?s.

???? Billie is a professional photographer who has a booth at the rally, and Bobbie is the editor of the town?s weekly newspaper.? The Wrights are staying at the twins? home.? After a hike in the hills to look around for gold, they get to take a tour of the newspaper plant and then go to attend the rally.? But all the time, they are wondering what had happened earlier to their pet turtle, Prince Pumpkin the Third, when they found him dazed after he stumbled across the mysterious device which the Wrights had found in a cave in Arizona and named the time tuner?? And what happens to the family when they are at the rally, all holding on to one another, and Nadia begins to fiddle with the time tuner while it?s in her pocket?

???? The ?Wright on Time? books are not only fun reading for young people but also contain a lot of interesting information about the different states in which the events take place.? In this one, there are a map of South Dakota with pictures of various objects related to the state, a glossary of words used in the story, and a page of more facts about South Dakota.? And they present a very positive view of homeschooling.? To help use the books educationally, A Journey Through Learning carries lapbooks for all the ?Wright on Time? books and for other subjects as well.? And kids can make their own Flat Nadia and Flat Aidan to follow the travels of the two.? Their next adventure will be in the state of Minnesota.
